What is Welding?
Welding is a process wherein two or more parts are fitted together using a combination of heat and pressure, or just the two factors on their own depending on the kind of materials used. It is a process generally used for metals, which is where we come in with the specialization
How Does it Work?
Different from soldering and brazing, welding is a heat heavy process that melts the base material of the two-parent raw materials. In addition, there is a filler material that is added to help facilitate the process and fuse all the materials together.
The high temperatures create a pool of a combination of the melted metals which cool to form the join; which can turn out to be stronger than the initial raw materials you started with. Then pressure is used to produce a weld and can be done with or without the heat depending on the conditions and the materials used.
In some cases, a shielding gas is used to protect the materials from oxidizing or becoming prone to contamination.
