The Different Types of Steel at K&K Steel
At K&K Steel, we know that you need to be outfitted with the right materials in order to succeed at the job that you are attempting to complete. There are a wide variety of different steel shops that are all going to be vying for your business, but we don’t believe that you need to pay them any attention. Why? Because we offer everything you need within the realm of steel for the projects that you need help with. Here are the different metals that we primarily work with:
1) Stainless Steel – The star of our entire business is stainless steel. Stainless steel possesses a chromium make up to go along with an iron core. Stainless steel is resistant, harder and more durable than the other options on this list.
2) Carbon Steel – The primary component of this type of steel is carbon, rather than chromium. Carbon steel also has iron inside of it. Carbon steel is less brittle than you’d expect but not as effective as stainless steel.
3) Tool Steel – Extremely hard, tool steel is commonly used in creating die cutting products or knives.
4) Alloy Steel – Alloy steel is our final type of steel. Heat treated, alloy steel is comprised of specific alloys (carbon, titanium, chromium etc.) and comes at a cheaper cost than stainless steel.
